When Everyone Can Build, What Actually Matters

Shipping has never been easier.
Build a landing page in an afternoon. Prototype in a weekend. Full-stack features you couldn't build a year ago. AI writes your code, generates your designs, scaffolds your infrastructure.
But easier to build doesn't mean easier to succeed.
I see founders struggling not because they can't execute, but because they're building in a vacuum. They're so focused on the new superpower of rapid building that they skip the thing that actually matters.
You're not stuck because you can't build. You're stuck because you haven't talked to enough customers.
The real hard part
AI can write your code. It can't sit across from someone and watch them hesitate before answering. It can't feel the awkward silence when they say, "Yeah... I probably wouldn't pay for that."
When everyone can ship, shipping isn't the differentiator. Understanding is.

AI tools let you skip the hard part of execution. But the real hard part was always the same: getting honest feedback from actual humans.
What matters now
In a world where anyone can build, the question of what to build becomes everything.
The advantages that matter now aren't technical:
Taste over technique. Anyone can generate a hundred variations. Fewer people can identify the one that works.
Conversations over analytics. Data tells you what happened. Conversations tell you why.
Relationships over reach. Your network becomes how you find the customers worth talking to. Cold outreach gets noisier. Warm paths get more valuable.
Building is a commodity now. Understanding isn't.
Go to events. Talk to friends. Use your network to find the customers you should be talking to. The founders who win will be the ones who spend less time building and more time learning what's actually worth building.
