Getting the Most Out of Chasqui
Chasqui works best when it has a complete picture of your professional network. This guide walks you through the key steps to set up your account for maximum impact and get the most out of every feature.
1. Connect All Your Data Sources
The more data Chasqui has, the better it can find warm paths and surface relevant connections. We recommend connecting all of the following that apply to you, note that you can connect multiple accounts of the same type for work and personal contacts:
- Google — Imports your Google Contacts and Google Calendar events
- You can also sync Apple or non-Google contacts to your Google account to make them available to Chasqui
- Microsoft — Imports your Outlook contacts and Microsoft Calendar events
- HubSpot — Syncs your CRM contacts (available on Premium plans)
- Slack — Imports workspace members as contacts
You can connect accounts from Settings → Account Manager. Each connected account gets its own color-coded badge so you can easily see where contacts came from.
2. Import LinkedIn and Other Contact Sources
Your email contacts are just one part of your network. To get the full picture:
- LinkedIn Export — Follow our LinkedIn export guide to download your connections and import the CSV into Chasqui
- CSV/Excel Upload — Got a spreadsheet of conference attendees, investors, or leads? Import it directly from the Contacts page or during onboarding
Chasqui automatically maps common columns (name, email, company, title) for you.
3. Connect to other Users
Connecting to other users in Chasqui is the fastest way to expand your network. By connecting to another user, you both opt-in to sharing your networks and allow Chasqui's agent to reccomend you eachothers contacts. there are three main ways to connect with other users:
- Individual invite - If you have a specific contact in your network that you would like to connect with, you can do so by going to their individual contact page and clicking
- ⋮ -> Invite to Chasqui for a one time link.
- Multiple use invite - If you are going to an event, or want to connect with multiple people and want a multi-use invite link, you can create one from the contact page directly:
- ⋮ -> Invite to Chasqui to choose the duration and number of uses of the invite link.
- User groups - If you and a group of people want to share your network eachother, then create a User Group and invite users to join it and share thier network with you.
Remember, second degree connections are the best way to increase the size of your network.
4. Enrich your Contacts
When importing contacts, enrich your contacts to let Chasqui automatically fill in missing information:
- Job titles and companies from public sources
- LinkedIn profile URLs for easy reference
- Professional bios summarizing each contact's background
- Location and industry data
Enrichment runs in the background and typically takes a few minutes for hundreds of contacts. You can also trigger enrichment later from the Account Manager with the "Enrich All Contacts" button.
5. Complete Your Profile
The AI agent uses your Profile to give personalized recommendations. Make sure to fill out:
- Basic Company Information: Company name, stage, industry, and business model
- What You're Looking For: Target markets, Networking challenges and objectives
- Value proposition and ICP: What you offer and who your ideal customer is
- Resume and Bio: So Chasqui and other users can understand your background and expertise
You can complete this during onboarding or update it anytime from Profile.
6. Set Clear Networking Goals
Set your goals in the Profile page. Goals help Chasqui prioritize which connections matter most. Set goals like:
- "Close 5 enterprise deals this quarter"
- "Find 3 potential investors for Series A"
- "Build partnerships with 2 distribution companies"
Your goals appear as quick prompts on the Dashboard, making it easy to jump straight into relevant AI queries. The AI also uses your goals to rank and recommend contacts and suggest relavent connections for you proactively.
7. Add Relationship Context
Basic contact data (name, email, company) is a starting point. To unlock Chasqui's full power, add relationship types between your contacts. Chasqui uses relationship types to to find the strongest paths to your targets:
- Who introduced you? — Add "Introduced by" relationships to map how you met
- Professional connections — Mentor, advisor, investor, client, partner
- Personal connections — Friend, former colleague, classmate
- Community ties — Event connections, club members, fellow alumni
You can add relationships from:
- A contact's detail page
- The Network page (click a node → "Add Relationship") or search for a contact and click the "Add Relationship" button
- The Mass Add Relationship tool (for connecting groups of people, e.g., all attendees of a dinner)
Pro Tip: The more relationships you add, the higher your Network Strength Score on the Dashboard — and the better the AI can find 2nd-degree warm paths to your targets.
8. Group Contacts
In addition to adding relationships, you can also group contacts in Chasqui. This is useful for organizing your contacts by company, industry, or any other criteria you choose, this also tells Chasqui how these people know eachother.
There are two types of groups:
- Contact Groups - You can add contacts to these groups, and associate them with a company or institution to show Chasqui that these people are related in some way, for example, all of your work colleagues or people you play tennis with.
- User Groups - These are groups that share your network with other Chasqui users. For example, if you are a member of a professional organization, you can create a user group for your organization and share your network with other members of the organization.
9. Explore Your Network Graph
The Network page shows an interactive force-directed graph of your entire professional network. Use it to:
- Spot clusters — See which companies, schools, or groups have the most connections
- Find hidden patterns — Discover that two of your contacts share a company you didn't know about
Click any node to see details and quickly add relationships. The graph updates in real-time as you add data.
10. Make the AI Work for You
The AI agent on your Dashboard is your networking co-pilot. Here are some high-value ways to use it:
- Find warm paths: "Who can introduce me to investors in fintech?"
- Meeting prep: "Prepare me for my meeting with Sarah Chen tomorrow"
- Network discovery: "Which of my contacts work at Fortune 500 companies?"
- Action items: "What follow-ups do I have pending this week?"
- Outreach help: "Draft a message asking Mike for an intro to his colleague at Stripe"
Use @mentions in the chat to reference specific contacts, meetings, or action items for more targeted responses.
